Madara AnonymousThe first iteration in this series was actually good, albeit a little boring and not too fantastical in any way. The second iteration is just a complete boring mess with the story almost feeling like a 4th grader wrote and directed the story. The soundtrack is fantastic and the acting is very good for the most part.2020-06-29 05:06gay Anonymousshit2020-02-27 01:02John AnonymousAbsolute waste of Time... Critic Reviews of "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald"
Globe and MailNovember 18, 2018About as exciting as a trip to Hogwarts's most neglected lavatory.
San Diego ReaderNovember 16, 2018Dash it all, even the devoted will likely struggle with the reams of expository talk and gobs of unearned feeling and scads of largely pointless beasties, plus some just plain lazy visuals (looking at you, magic cats).
CNN.comNovember 16, 2018More workmanlike than magical, "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" nevertheless feels like an upgrade from its predecessor, one that adds star power, introduces key characters and lays the foundation for a genuine "Wizarding World" franchise.
Chicago ReaderNovember 15, 2018The Crimes of Grindelwald feels hollow and disconnected, like it could have been made by anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of Rowling's wizarding world.
ReelViewsNovember 15, 2018Despite being light in the story department, The Crimes of Grindelwald offers plenty of small pleasures and tightens up the linkage between this series and Harry Potter.
Detroit NewsNovember 15, 2018The "Fantastic Beasts" films have as much to do with the Potter world as the current Detroit Pistons have to do with the championship winning Bad Boys.
The Ooh TrayDecember 02, 2018There's a mystery at the heart of this film, but it's not the identity of Ezra Miller's non-descript wizard, of the sparing use of Depp's Hitlerlarian sorcerer, rather why did Rowling think there was enough material to hang an entire second movie on?
Hero CollectorDecember 01, 2018[The sequel] can't quite capture the magic of the first and gets bogged down in trying to set up future instalments, rather than concentrating on its own plot and characters.
New York Amsterdam NewsNovember 30, 2018Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is a solid choice during the holiday season.
Vue Weekly (Edmonton, Alberta)November 30, 2018[It's] a torpid, dreary continuation of what's becoming the Dumbledore Reunion Tour, this is puff and smoke-fantasy without splendor, joy, fun, or much color at all.
Sacramento News & ReviewNovember 29, 2018[Rowling's] script here is the worst thing she's ever written -- incomprehensible if you haven't seen Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, saddling the actors with endless pages of indigestible exposition, an inert, lifeless set-up for the next movie.
Lagniappe (Mobile, AL)November 29, 2018It suffers a bit from being in the middle of a series and having to set up so many questions that don't get answered yet, but for every complaint I hear about this flick, I can think of something in it worth watching.
